Private Lisbon City Tour Itinerary

Tour Sintra

  • 1 Pastéis de Belém Factory

Our Lisbon Private Tour includes the Frabrica dos Pasteis de Belem. The rich and creamy custard tarts with slightly crispy pastry will be the best you've ever tasted. This is the least well kept secret recipe in Lisbon, the pastel de nata. These delicious pastries can be found across the country in bakeries and cafes, but the original recipe remains a fiercely guarded secret by three people. Originally it was created before the 18th century by Catholic nuns in a bakery in a cloistered order in the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. Nowadays, the nearby Fábrica de Pastéis de Belém is the only place in the world where you can buy the real pastel de Belém, which has a unique and delicious taste.

  • 2 Jeronimos Monastery

We continue our private tour Lisbon to Mosteiros dos Jerónimos This incredible testament to the vast fortune the Portuguese made in the Americas and Asia is perhaps Lisbon’s crown, displaying one of the finest examples of Manueline architecture in the world. Once home to the order of monks of the order of São Jerónimo, the Monastery was built on the site of an existing hermitage founded by Dom Afonso Henriques in 1450. Thurs, in 1497 Vasco da Gama and his crew spent the night praying before leaving for India. The monastery, now classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, was where the Treaty of Lisbon was signed in 2007 by the heads of state of the European Union, laying the foundations for a European constitution and for major reforms in the EU. On this private tour of Lisbon you will have all the information from our guide about curiosities of the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos
